The structural integrity isn’t strong on this one.

Well, AFAIK,

Bolting a strut, which handles significant force, in such a manner causes torque upon the chassis; since the two bolts are so close together, you could expect those to be where the rotational force would occur (the axis) if the strut is subject to a lot of force, it would cause a rotational force upon the axis and cause metal fatigue on the chasis, which would weaken the part, which in turn would probably lead it to fail, either by loosened bolts or by simply tearing metal. Given that the strut tower top is already broken, I suspect there’s rust in the area, meaning that the section of the chassis isn’t very structurally sound anyway.

if the beam went across the the strut and was secured on the other side of the wheel arch, it would be help with that, but then you have torsional force that the strut causes upon the beam when it expands and contracts (since the angle of the strut normally changes in the travel of the suspension)

I’m a student, I could be wrong, so maybe it’s worthy of a formula one car :)

its simple just use a piece of leaf spring instead of a solid piece of tube.

As a mechanical engineer I can concur that this is truly terrifying to look at.

If you look closely, the beam takes a 90 after the gaping hole through which the shock’s bayonet protrudes and is secured by another single double-nutted 1/4-20 bolt through the sheetmetal.

This setup is legit AF.

No, I can just see it in the above picture. The color of the bar blends in with the carpet padding, but it’s there.

Yeah, I just noticed!
But its so close to the edge that I wouldn’t want to cross a speed hump in that car... I feel like it would tear apart.
